I know... I know

Okay- no more slacking on my part. It has just been crazy around here! But I am sure it will be this way until 2008 rolls around- so I can't put bloggin' off anymore. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! Our Turkey Day was fun! We had a ham lunch with Sam's mom and then the turkey dinner with another side of his family. Yes- 2 big meals- 1 day!! And of course I hit the big After-Turkey Day Sales (by myself I might add- man I miss my sisters!!). Although I did meet up with some friends while shopping and then later for the craft fair and lunch. All in all it was a fun weekend.

Now preparations for the BIG holiday are underway. We put some of our Christmas decor up today. I will post pictures once we get the tree up.
People who do not live up here always want to know the latest on our weather so I will try to include the highlights every so often. Lately our weather has been so WEIRD! We had like 6 inches of snow about 10 days ago and now- NADA!!!! It warmed up to high 30s, low 40s and has been RAINING! Not typical November Alaska weather that's for sure. To be honest- we just can't wait for the snow to come back!! Here are a couple pictures before it all melted away.

Sam took Si for a ride on the snowmachine. A quick ride around our property turned into a half an hour. But Silas had SO much fun despite the coldness! Isn't the sky so pretty in this picture!?!

I just had to put this on! I meant to do it right after it happened but just got busy with Thanksgiving. Here is Brookie with her first OUCHY on her forehead! Kind of a crappy picture- but if I could get her to sit or stand still for 2 seconds then things would be different.

Sorry we can't blame this one on her learning to walk! This one has Silas written all over it! Funny story- The Monday before Thanksgiving, Silas was pushing his big metal Tonka Dump Truck around the house at full running speed and came around a corner and there was Brookie. The corner right to her forehead knocking her onto her back. It started bleeding instantly and so did the crying. Si kept saying "Sorry!... um it's bleedin" . I took her into the ER expecting a stitch or two but they just glued 2 teeny tiny butterfly tapes over it. Since she had absolutely no sign of a concussion we were done in just over an hour - Thank goodness! So one trip to the ER down- and wishful thinking, hopefully no more to go!

Under Construction

Notice something different. I am finally doing what I have wanted to do for some time now- personalizing. Please be patient with me and my construction. Things might be missing or different but give me time and things will be better. Thanks!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! - I know it's late

Okay- I finally got this done! I have been trying forever and everytime my computer was having issues with pictures or I had to stop and get doing something else. For those of you checking frequently- SO SORRY! But I have really enjoyed seeing all of you fellow bloggers Halloween picts. Way too cute!

Well here's some pictures of our Halloween kiddos- better late than never right. Our Halloween was fun! All four of us just went to some family and friends houses.
Silas was Batman "with muscles". He had fun trickentreatin! We brought home way too much candy for that kid. I think he is more excited that he gets to wear his costume whenever he wants now!
Brookie was a skunk "lil stinker". She could have cared less about the whole thing. She was kind of a grouch since we had to take the top part of her costume off every time we got into the car so she would fit in her carseat and then had to put it back on once we got to where we were going. It was a PAIN IN THE BUTT! If everyone just lived close to us that would be so much more convenient for us on this one day every year.
Anyways- Sam dressed up in his fishing gear and I wore a long black wig and had my broomstick. It was two last minute costumes- what can I say. Next year we will do better- we already have ideas.

Silas and I also made some pretty cute goodies for Halloween. I thought they turned out so cute so we had to take a pict of them. I must say- they were really tasty too.

Carving Pumpkins

Well we finally got to carve our pumpkins on Sunday. We have had them in our garage for almost 2 weeks and finally had a night where everyone was home. The kids really had fun! Si wasn't all for the cleaning part of it but enjoyed the cutting. Brookie on the other hand wanted to dig in, get all the goop and just eat it.

She really liked climbing up to stand on them and look down inside. We had a cute picture of her standing inside one but somehow it got deleted before the picts got to our computer. And don't ask why she is just chillin' in her diaper- because I really can't remember why she wasn't in clothes.

Si surprised us and didn't really want to dig in and get all the goop out. He let us do the dirty work and he just got to play with the cutters. As you can tell he enjoyed himself and worked pretty hard at the cutting end.

After we finally got all four pumpkins carved it was bedtime, so we took the finished picts the next day. Si is pretty proud of his spider. Daddy helped draw it and did most of the cutting. But Si got to do most the cutting for Brookie's BOO! pumpkin. He is really into to doing everything "All by myself!" He was very proud of himself for being a good big brother and making Brookie's for her. He doesn't forget to mention it to her every time we go out to light them.

Aren't my little pumpkins just the cutest things!

We wanted people who were driving by to be able to see our pumpkins lit up so we had to put them on our back deck. Si could not wait until it was dark so we could go light the candles for the first time. After we lit them and it got pretty dark- we went for a walk up our driveway and down our street to get the view of them on our back deck. Then we had to move up closer to get a better picture of the finished products. We were actually impressed at how well they all turned out.

The next morning- we woke up to another snowfall. Si was again so excited that "Santa can come now!" After looking out every single window he thought it was way more cool that it
snowed on our pumpkins.
We hope that all of you have a great Halloween!

FIRST SNOW

It's official!!
This is what we woke up to this morning. Our first snow of the year! Silas was so excited to wake up this morning and see our blanket of white outside- first thing he said "It's Christmas, Mommy!"
Brooke wasn't quite sure about it- she liked looking at it out the window or doorway but didn't enjoy it falling on her face.
It snowed on and off most of the day. There were times where it was really snowing and blowing. A lot melted by this afternoon- but it is just the beginning of our white winter!

Do you know where your children are?

I was downstairs switching the laundry and noticed that it was a little bit too quiet upstairs- any Mom knows what that means. I am glad to say that it wasn't as bad as it could have been- but it was good enough to take picts. Brooklyn had made her way into Si's room and helped herself to a movie. I guess it was too hard to pick just one!
Then I found that Silas had gotten so comfy watching Tom & Jerry that he crashed right where he was. He loves to play in any and all of our laundry baskets. I'm glad they serve another purpose besides laundry- a spot for naptime!

Happy Fall Y'all!

I know that Fall has already begun for most- but it is quickly coming to an end for us up here. Just wanted to share the view from our house as of last Saturday. I wish I would have taken some about a week earlier before the wind blew some of the leaves off.
Isn't God's creation so beautiful!

Catch Up

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post. I have been occupied with other things lately. I think things have settled down a bit so I will be better at posting. Here are a few of the latest picts of my kiddos.

Silas is such an entertainer! He cracks us up constantly. Always wanting to pose for pictures. He got a play guitar yesterday and absolutely loves it. You can tell in the picture that he is jammin' out! He sings "Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where are you?" over and over again. I see talent!

Brookie is everywhere. Crawling like crazy! And pulling up to stand on anything possible. She is also our little vaccumn, it does not matter how often I sweep and/or vaccumn- that lil thing finds stuff to munch on all day long. Once she hits the floor she likes to head to Si's room (there is usually toys on the floor in there), the bathroom (that's where baths happen), or if the fridge is open- she books it! It is amazing what can entertain her. I had a candle shipment a week or so ago and she absolutely loved the packing peanuts. If she wouldn't have tried to eat every peice in sight- I could have got more picts. But I had to piss her off and close up the box. She really brings a lot of happiness into our house!

I am so grateful for my little munchkins! They do drive me crazy sometimes (as most mom's will say) and I often wonder why I put myself in this situation- but then they love on me, say the cutest things or I just have to look at them and all the love just comes pouring back in. I mean JUST LOOK AT THEM!

She's OFF!!!

Brookie's got it! She is crawling all over the place. She totally loves that she can go pretty much anywhere now. She does take a little longer once she hits the wood floor- it's kinda slippery! Everytime I pull out the camera to capture the moment, she stops and just sits. So here is a cute one of her eating her favorite- an apple. She is just hitting the milestones so fast now. On Saturday, I went to get her out of her bed and there she was standing- hanging on for dear life to the railing. Standing- Crawling- I can't believe my 'lil bit' will be Walking soon!

Fisherman

Just wanted to put a few picts of this summer fishing season. Sam does commercial salmon fishing in Cook Inlet during the summer. He absolutely loves it! Silas really likes going on the boat. He even has rain gear just like Daddy.

Sam has been keeping up the family tradition of fishing. He is the 3rd generation to fish in Cook Inlet. Sam's boat is the Aurora. His brother Steven- holding Silas and his Grandpa are standing on Sam's boat. Sam's cousin and uncle fish on the Borealis. Chris Leuci -a friend from High School is in the middle. I'm sure this is something that Sam will be doing until he's 80 just like his Gpa. But he loves it- so it's a good thing.

At the beach

Yesterday, the kids and I took a trip down to Homer. It was fun but quick. We were dropping off stuff for Sam at the propeller shop. We went down to the Homer "spit" to hit a few of the shops. Si could not resist the beach- since it's right there. It was a little breezy but a good 60 degrees. I had to keep telling Si that the water was too cold to go swimming (about 40 degrees I bet). So he just threw rocks and let the waves get his hands a few times. Brooke loved the rocks as well. She wanted to just eat them though. But as soon as I put her down she got mad every time I picked her up to move. She just wanted to eat dirt! I really enjoyed just watching my kids. They are both getting so big, so fast!

Skate lessons

We got our first taste of winter yesterday (sort of). It was Si's first ice skating lesson. He absolutely loved it! He looked so cute out on the ice. He did pretty good for his first time- he fell a few times but he got right back up and kept doing it. When his lesson was over he did not want to leave. He said "That was so much fun, Mommy!" Brooke had fun snacking in her stroller while Mommy filmed Sisi.

Blogger

Well I guess I am a part of the blogger community now. Thx for the idea Taralee!! Hope every visitor enjoys seeing and reading about our little fam. Here are a few recent picts of our adorable kiddos.
Brooke is 7 months old. She loves clapping her hands (as you can tell) and waving. She absolutely loves being outside. She sure gets around pretty good for not actually crawling, but she's pretty dang close- ready or not!
Silas is 3 and is such an active little man. He loves being outside and riding his dirtbike. When it's rainy outside- he really likes books and playing with his puppy, Kodi. He can't go a single day without his chocolate milk!
