Carving Pumpkins

Well we finally got to carve our pumpkins on Sunday. We have had them in our garage for almost 2 weeks and finally had a night where everyone was home. The kids really had fun! Si wasn't all for the cleaning part of it but enjoyed the cutting. Brookie on the other hand wanted to dig in, get all the goop and just eat it.

She really liked climbing up to stand on them and look down inside. We had a cute picture of her standing inside one but somehow it got deleted before the picts got to our computer. And don't ask why she is just chillin' in her diaper- because I really can't remember why she wasn't in clothes.

Si surprised us and didn't really want to dig in and get all the goop out. He let us do the dirty work and he just got to play with the cutters. As you can tell he enjoyed himself and worked pretty hard at the cutting end.

After we finally got all four pumpkins carved it was bedtime, so we took the finished picts the next day. Si is pretty proud of his spider. Daddy helped draw it and did most of the cutting. But Si got to do most the cutting for Brookie's BOO! pumpkin. He is really into to doing everything "All by myself!" He was very proud of himself for being a good big brother and making Brookie's for her. He doesn't forget to mention it to her every time we go out to light them.

Aren't my little pumpkins just the cutest things!

We wanted people who were driving by to be able to see our pumpkins lit up so we had to put them on our back deck. Si could not wait until it was dark so we could go light the candles for the first time. After we lit them and it got pretty dark- we went for a walk up our driveway and down our street to get the view of them on our back deck. Then we had to move up closer to get a better picture of the finished products. We were actually impressed at how well they all turned out.

The next morning- we woke up to another snowfall. Si was again so excited that "Santa can come now!" After looking out every single window he thought it was way more cool that it
snowed on our pumpkins.
We hope that all of you have a great Halloween!

Your pumpkins look so cute, and your kids are also so cute. That is crazy how much snow you are already getting. It was cold for a couple of days here but for the last couple of days it has been 65-70 degrees with no wind. So we are not complaining.

That pumpkin is as big as your baby. They all turned out way cute. How cold is that to wake up to snow all over your pumpkins. I would think it was time for Santa too. Your kids are so cute and growing so fast. Have a Happy Halloween.
