B-E-A-UTIFUL Days

We have had more nice days in the past three weeks than we had all last year! It looks like we may have a great summer after all. It has provided all of us a little bit of color and a few tan lines as well!

These nice days have been spent in our yard jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sandbox and even our alligator pool. Silas learned how to ride his bike with no training wheels on the very first nice day!! He was so pumped and is such a good little rider now! We have also gone to different parks in the area. Some days with just me and the kiddos and others with MANY friends. My kids are ones that could live outside if that was an option. And now with like 16 hours of daylight it is really hard to get them not only to come in from outside but to just go to bed. It is a battle that we have mostly been fighting with Silas. He just doesn't understand why we have to go to bed when it is still daytime. Brookie is pretty willing once she gets in her jammies. Although, some days the kids have played so hard that they literally just crash wherever they fall. Here's Brookie after a long, fun day outside.
I feel guilty that some of those days I have just wanted to stay inside and get things done, but in Alaska you never know if this is the last nice day of the summer so you take advantage of it NO MATTER WHAT!! Needless to say, my house is not as organized as I would like it to be (it is pretty clean right now though) and I seriously don't think I have dusted in like a month. But, as most of you know, I am not one that stresses over how deep down clean my house is, so I am glad that I have just walked out the door to play without even looking back. I have been planning to take advantage of the time when the kids are asleep to catch up on daily stuff, but I have found myself enjoying time catching up on DVR events or just hanging out instead. The few windy and cloudy days that we have had, I have taken and started preparing for things that are coming up soon. We have Sam's deckhand for this year coming to stay with us starting the end of this month, scrapbook retreat on May 30th, a garage sale planned for June 11-13 where I plan to get rid of a TON of stuff and VBS starts June 6th and I am teaching the Kindergarten class!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHHA! A lot of preparation and not as much time as I would like! But I'm sure the Lord with help me get everything in order on time just like always.

In spite of my stress for those events- Our summer looks to be pretty fun-filled! Silas should be starting outdoor soccer in June. He has three sessions of swimming lessons scheduled and fishing season should be mediocre but steady. I just wish that Brookie was old enough to do all this fun stuff too, but she is just going to be a supporter with Mommy and Daddy!

It does look beautiful there in good ol' Alaska. I'm glad you are one of the few moms who take advantage of the fun times and forget about the things that aren't that important like dusting. I'm working on being more like that. You have a beautiful family!
